Lil Milagro Joins Climate Communities Network

Beautiful community,

We are so proud to announce that our Executive Director, Lil Milagro Henriquez, has joined the Climate Communities Network, organized by the National Academy of Medicine! This inaugural cohort of 18 Members and 11 Strategic Partners will co-develop and drive local solutions to climate-related health inequities, and we are so proud to have the work of Mycelium Youth Network represented in this space.

As the Fifth National Climate Assessment #NCA5 underscored just this month, “Climate change worsens these long-standing inequities [across adverse environmental, health, economic, or social conditions], contributing to persistent disparities in the resources needed to prepare for, respond to, and recover from climate impacts.” It is crucial at this time that we invest in cross-sector, national-level partnerships, like CCN, to resource climate vulnerable communities to build up resilience to our changing reality.

We hope you’ll join us in celebrating this moment. Mycelium is grounded in the knowledge and experience of young folks, ancestral teachings, and the wisdom of the natural world, and we hope to bring this forward in the work ahead. Together with CCN, we will amplify community voices and living experiences and leverage community expertise to address the structural drivers of climate-related health inequities at the local level.
